In Thunderbird, you may find you have problems with your settings.
If so, you will want to change your incoming and outgoing mail server names. Only this, there is no need to change other settings.
The new settings should be:
Incoming mail server name: imap.stackmail.com
Outgoing mail server name: smtp.stackmail.com
